Relative Arguments
Is there such a thing as an absolute argument? Aren't arguments always rooted in contexts and perspectives? Arguments even seem to evolve with time and extended in meaning throughout space when not transformed altogether. Arguments are inherently relative, relating to some reference or references. A reference might be absolute, but an argument is never absolute. The argument always depends on the state of the reference. And the reference being absolute doesn't make the argument absolute, as an argument is always a process, and not a finality.
A series of arguments may seem all encompassing, but that is only achievable only and only if the arguments are presented in relative fashion, taking contradictions into account throughout the process. The point here is to find where the argument stems from and to insure the effectiveness and efficiency of an argument by looking for its reference, and/or the references relevant to the arguments at stake, and how they relate to each other.
An argument is always about agency, the agency of the presenter, and the way he/she organizes the many points in order to convince a receptive audience. So the audience becomes another reference, as it sanctions the argument. But the presenter is also a reference as personal choices move the rhetoric of the argument as much as its logic. So an argument is not just about rhetoric as it's also about logic, the rhetoric doesn't have to skew the logic, but it does influence it.
Thus an argument is always as good as the reference and the agency of the references in how they relate to each other in specific perspectives and contexts. Relative Arguments: Relative Perspectives and Relative Contexts.
